The protection of the environment and the territory are pillars of Umberto Cesari’s viticultural philosophy and fundamental values of the company, so much so that since the end of the 1980s in the vineyards of Castel San Pietro there have been adopted agricultural practices aimed at preserving the most important resources of the company: its land and its vines.
From crop protection through Integrated Defense, to the use of weather stations for monitoring environmental conditions, to biological and biotechnological practices in recent years, these and many other actions implemented by agronomists have been given a formal look using a brand that certifies corporate sustainability: ” Integrated Production National Quality System ” (Italian: SQNPI).
The certification is a point of arrival of a path of qualitative growth under the banner of sustainability that involves the entire production process of grapes and of wine. The company has always operated with the utmost respect for the environment and for the health and hygiene safety of operators and consumers. Joining the SQNPI project was therefore the natural continuation of the productive philosophy according to the “best practices” adopted already for a long time by Umberto Cesari.
The company is the first in Emilia Romagna to be certified as a “National Integrated Production Quality System” (SQNPI) for the production of grapes and wines, once again proving to be a forerunner in the Region of that global Quality embraced by the founder and that became a fil rouge of the entire life of the company.
Sustainability is an added value for the consumer, this certification is a further guarantee that the company wanted to give to its customers that from now on it will be able to have greater certainty of the level of traceability and safety of the products signed by Umberto Cesari.
