Umberto Cesari, founder of the winery, passed away during the night.

A far-sighted entrepreneur, a man of rare humanity and wisdom, he dedicated his life to his land trying to enhance it with the wines that bear his name on the label. A firm believer in the infinite potential of the Emilia Romagna wine, he was the author of a revolution in viticulture at a time when quality and typicality were concepts far distant from the region. He believed in the great potential of his grape varieties and succeeded over the years in making them known and appreciated in Italy and abroad, so much that he is now considered an Ambassador of Sangiovese in the world.

His dream, his vision and his passion will live on.
