A privileged terroir since 1985.
In the hills north of the Via Emilia lie the vineyards of Podere Laurento, where we cultivate not only Sangiovese but Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Pinot Grigio as well.
Laurento is a very old agricultural estate that once belonged to the Curia of Bologna; Umberto Cesari purchased it in 1985. Its clay soils and southwest aspect produce extraordinary wines, such as our Laurento Sangiovese Riserva, an all-Sangiovese that ages for 24 months in large capacity casks of to 30 hectolitres.
Podere Laurento’s international varieties are partners is some blends: Moma Rosso is a beguiling cuvée of Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Merlot, while Iove Chardonnay Pinot Grigio is a deliciously crisp pleaser with citrus-edged aromatics backgrounded by luscious tropical impressions.
