The villa
Villa Marcona is a noble family residence that rises above the Romagna hills just outside Dozza, a fascinating village in the province of Bologna, where Medieval architecture encounters the lively colours of contemporary street art.
Commissioned by the Toschi-Della Volpe family in 1794 from Cosimo Morelli, the Villa boasts a large central hall and beautiful rooms frescoed by Alessandro Della Nave, constituting an important artistic chapter in the 18th century cultural scene of Romagna.
In accord with his philosophy of developing and promoting Romagna through dedication to its culture and art, with initiatives as early as1964, Umberto Cesari carried out a lengthy restoration project, transforming Villa Marcona into a stylish treasure open to the public for business meetings and tastings.
