Style: an ongoing quest
Every bottle of Umberto Cesari wine contains the essence of an extraordinary artisan journey, the highest levels of knowledge and know-how that represent our style of winemaking. The balanced aromas and flavours are the result of our work on the soils, amidst the vines and in the winery itself, all pursued with our passion for crafting wine.
Our work is constantly evolving to ensure that the aromas and flavours of our wine convey all the history and quality of our terroirs: the characteristics of the local area blend seamlessly with the wine itself, yielding a harmonious, distinctive identity.
Our Cru wines
Each vineyard has its own personality, which is shaped by exposure, soil and altitude. This uniqueness can only be captured in every bottle by striking the right balance between experience, commitment and care. Our Cru wines are crafted only in the finest vintages, when the grapes reach optimal ripeness and express the essence of this land to best effect, in keeping with the unmistakable style of Umberto Cesari.
Costa di Rose
The result is a versatile wine with a unique, fresh taste and a marked personality that bears witness to our love for Sangiovese. It sees a new and contemporary interpretation yielded by ongoing research. The label alternates Tiffany blue and white stripes, with a summery theme inspired by 1950s iconography.
The Blends
Our different estates and grape varieties allow us to blend different grapes, creating wines with unique, captivating sensory profiles that linger on the palate. Local grape varieties are paired with international ones, giving life to wines of surprising personality.
Moma
(My Own MAsterpiece)
Moma is our tribute to the art world; its name stands for My Own Masterpiece. The first edition paid homage to Giorgio Morandi, sparking the idea for a competition – the Umberto Cesari Art Contest, launched in 2011. This initiative nurtures young talent, deepens the bond between wine and art, and periodically reinvents the labels of the Moma collection.
Single-varietal wines
The gentle slope of our hills, their exposure to winds, rain and breezes, the distinct alternation of the seasons and the features of the soil allow each grape to reach its full potential in a unique, typical way. To enhance the qualities of each vine variety, we produce single-varietal wines, made only with grapes of the same type which are classics of our terroir.
Colle del Re Passito
A captivating, warm and all-enveloping Passito wine, made with 100% Albana di Romagna grapes, it is the result of research and unwavering attention to every aspect of the production process. Made from late harvest grapes that are subsequently dried in a fruit drying room, with constant monitoring of the botrytis development phase. The refinement in barriques for 24 months completes the harmony of this rarity.
