This Albana Passito is warm and enfolding, an aromatic symphony of yellow peach and apricot, acacia honey and roasted chestnuts.
Interesting facts
The symbol on the front label synthesises the production process of Albana Passito, the very quintessence of the Albana di Romagna grape variety. The gold circles represent the berry skin, while the lines, gradually growing smaller, convey the natural appassimento, or drying process.
A passito wine from a late-harvest selection of Albana di Romagna grapes grown in vineyards averaging 15-20 years old and yielding 50 quintals per hectare. The clusters undergo a natural drying in specialised rooms, under meticulous monitoring of the botrytis mould. They are then gently pressed, and the must ferments in Allier oak casks at a controlled temperature. The passito matures for 24 months in Allier oak barrels and a further 6 months in the bottle.

Palate: Enfolds with its sweet warmth; full-bodied, with an impressive structure. Finishes on an intriguing, appealing hint of saffron.
