Our story starts in the heart of Emilia-Romagna,
over 50 wine harvests ago.
A passion that is passed down from one generation to the next. After starting to work with wine due to his passion at the beginning of the 1960s, he has since dedicated his life to vine-growing, specializing in local grape varieties. Starting with few means but a lot of enthusiasm in a moment when quality and locally-grown where foreign concepts in Romagna, he was able, over time, to get others to know and appreciate his wines, especially abroad - so much that he is now considered a sort of ambassador of Sangiovese in the world.

FIELDS AND VINEYARDS
Everything is born here, in our 8 ‘poderi’ or fields - Claterna, Casetta, Parolino, Laurento, Ca’ Grande, Miravalle, Tauleto, and Liano - measuring 355 hectares of vineyards protected by the Calanchi Azzurri, badlands that form a crown-like structure of clay-based rocks. These, together with the sharp difference between seasons, promote a mild climate and make the soil the optimal growing ground for selective vine-growing.
The promotion of our land also includes the production of high-quality Sangiovese grapes as well as of other varieties of local grapes such as Albana, Pignoletto, and Trebbiano. The local wine heritage is then mixed with internationally-known varieties like Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Chardonnay, and Sauvignon Blanc, necessary to produce special cuts through the refined art of Blending.

The grape harvest is a special moment that takes place every autumn, when ripe grapes are picked after months of patient work and wait. The harvest closes the grapes’ story and starts that of the wine.

Our barrel cellars are the ideal places to let wines refine and age in a protected environment checked for humidity and temperature, constantly monitoring every phase of the process all the way to when it is bottled.

Carpigiani is a symbol of the technique and craftsmanship that goes into the production of machines for the production of artisanal ice cream, the real Italian ‘gelato’. A long-standing partnership between two hubs of excellence of the region that allows our wines to express themselves to the most even through the combination with a classic and timeless dessert.
A classic Parisian touch with colours that make Isabel Marant the designer of ‘contamination’. It is from this prestigious mix that our partnership starts, to match every item of clothing with a different wine.
Great scent, fragrance, and softness: Favola is the first and only mortadella stuffed and cooked in natural pork rind. This unique recipe, patented in the Salumificio Palmieri, is a perfect match with a red wine signed by Umberto Cesari. This is the best of the culinary heritage of Emilia-Romagna, with unique and high-quality products.
Our region is popular all over the world as the birthplace of some of the most famous Italian food products like Parmigiano Reggiano. This is why we have opened the door of our winery to some of the companies in the region and created, with them, some great tasting ideas, matching their specialties to our wines.
